Today's character is inspired by a new work schedule with which I've been recently experimenting. The schedule doesn't have a name, but, for the purposes of this post, let's just call it 'Hella Early' (which seems to kinda fit the drawing above too).

How early is Hella Early, exactly? Well, for me, it's 4am.

So far, it's going okay. Such an early start allows for an uninterrupted chunk of time in which I can do one 'simple-ish' character for COTD (like the one-tone characters you've seen this week) plus work for a variety of other projects: full-colour characters and strips, illustrations and commissions or simply 'other'. I'm not sure how long Hella Early will be sustainable - we'll see if I can keep it up. But I do enjoy experimenting with different ways of being more productive sometimes.

If you're an artist or just someone with the freedom to make your own daily schedule, what's your preferred routine? Up all night? Strictly 9 to 5? Whenever/whatever? Let me know in the comments (here or on Facebook) - I love hearing about how people work.

Have a great whenever!
